About Melissa

Melissa has been an environmental educator and communicator for over a decade. Her professional roles include work in nonprofits, startups, and businesses in a range of sustainable fields, including renewable energy, agriculture, and community development.

She currently teaches environmental studies courses at Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts in NYC.

She has previously  taught at environmental centers across Long Island and NYC, including: NYU Wallerstein Collaborative for Urban Environmental Education & Sustainability, Wildlife Conservation Society,  Rockaway Initiative for Sustainability and Equity (RISE), Alley Pond Environmental Center, Idlewild Park Preserve, and the Center for Science Teaching and Learning.

She holds a BA with departmental honors in Environmental Studies from Adelphi University and an MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University.
